Australia - Part One
Billie Cole was born in Australia to Jazz Saxophone and Clarinet big band musician Maxwell Carter and fashion seamstress Maureen Moore. She was the oldest of four girls and was brought up in a musical family. Learning guitar, piano, voice and broadway style productions. She started her professional Jazz singing career at 17 years old, performing weekly at Melbournes #1 Jazz Club - Marios of Brighton where she performed nightly with Sergio Foechi, Louis Armstrongs former pianist and Motowns Award Winning musical Director and Oscar nominated composer Gil ASkey. Gil was known for Billie Holidays - Lady Sings the Blues - Motown musical composer - director for Berry Gordy, Diana Ross, Jacksons, Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli and Miles Davis. During this time Billie was studying classical voice for four years under Australia’s leading Tenor and top #10 tenor in the world Mr Ron Lees and Italy’s Joe Galani. During the day Billie worked as a runway and photographic fashion model, and became the winner of the 1989 Mannequins and models Guild Gown of the year Top Model. During the day she attended the SAE - School of Audio Engineering studying production and engineering. After playing many major venues in Melbourne and making appearances on RMI-TV and Hey Hey its Saturday - Australia’s #1 rated Television show. She performed a duet at the Australian Home Show with Australian celebrity Barry Crocker. At 20 years old Billie had written, directed and Produced her first Broadway Style musical Production called “Gangster 45” with her sister Christina, it appeared at three major theaters in Melbourne. In 1991 she moved to the Gold Coast where she headlined at Jupiters Conrad Hilton Casino, Sheraton Mirage, Marriot and Sanctuary Cove for many years in bands, trios and shows. She also was featured on the TV Show “Good Morning Australia” Nationwide. Featured on Billboards, Magazines - Paradise Magazine and Newspaper Articles, Gold Coast Sun. She appeared at the Annual Hong Kong International Chinese Ball as the featured artist from Australia for celebrity actor Phillip Chan and 1200 Vip guests at the Regency in Hong Kong. Next was the Australia Days largest Concert opening act for 10,000 people audience for Australian top pop groups of the early 90’s. Billie Cole Show as opening act at Twin Towns for the Platters Australian Tour. Soon after off onto the high seas in the early 90’s on Princess P&O Cruise line as headliner showroom artist nightly, through the South Pacific, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia. Billie recorded and released her first original album in 1994 called “Sophisticated Sounds” Next City was Sydney performing at the Hyatt Regency. Billie met a fellow touring American Artist on the Gold Coast, Robert Deblanc - background singer for Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Sonny Turner and Little Anthony and the Imperials who Billie performed with for many years, married and then moved to Las Vegas in 1997.
USA - Part Two
1997 - Starting over in a new country, Billie Started with a residency six nights per week at the Luxor performing through the years at all the Major Casinos - MGM Brown Derby for audiences of Tom Jones, EWF, Carole King, Run DMC, MayWeather, Paul Hogan Crocodile Dundee - Kerry Packer - and other celebrities. She received an invitation to perform on Celine Dions private party and yacht, ( I gracefully declined at the risk of losing a residency gig that would not let us take the night off) One of those career moments lol. Billie then ended up coaching Celine Dions Background Singers and various cast members working for Cirque Du Soleil, O Show Bellagio Artists. She performed for the past 20 plus years on the Las Vegas Strip in many of the Casino's Luxor, Paris, MGM Grand, Excalibur, Mirage, Fiesta, Lake las Vegas, Hilton, MCasino, Flamingo, Tropicana, The Venetian, Planet Hollywood, First Friday Arts festival, The Space, Gordon Biersch, and many of the Jazz Hot spots in Vegas. She released her second Jazz Album called Billie Cole in 2008. Appearances on Fox 5 - The Morning Blend. THE ARTIST Billie recorded her third original album “One Night” released Worldwide in 2023 Smooth, R&B, Latin, jazz which was co-written and produced by the legendary artist Toto Zara from Spains recording group “The Zaras” The Single release with The Smooth Jazz Mafia - “Paradiso”. Her music is played around the world and enjoyed on smooth Jazz Radio in Australia, USA, South America and Europes Smooth Jazz One. Also the release of the single Nights in Grenada with Toto Zara and she is currently producing her new upcoming album - Smooth Jazz Mafia…
Part Three - The Studio Coach
Billie has also gone onto be known as Vocal Coach to the Stars - Singing and Artist development Producer, collaborator ,Songwriter, She has produced, written, collaborated on over 40 albums, over 200 video clips, coaching 100’s of artists. Billie has produced half time shows for the NBA's Summer league Championship Games. Produced Shows for President Bill and Hilary Clintons political election year event. First Friday Events for 15 plus years. Martin Luther King Parade opening Show with Carole Hattar, with Celebrity Artists Alex Boye - Britains Got Talent, Americas Got talent Finalist - Grammy winner the legendary Bubba Knight - NBA. She Produced the opening Show for Jason Mraz at First Friday in Las Vegas and Carlos Santanas Milagro Foundation. Worked on a TV Show with With Digi World Producer Darry Lighten, and Mariah Carey called Vegas Gems.
